Here we are. Fully into 2023. Ok, maybe not entirely. Perhaps we are still dragging a bit of the 2022 energy, but no doubt, according to the calendar, we are in 2023.
Have you thought about how you want to feel and experience this year? Have you taken a few moments to consider that giving it a little bit of direction could help you feel less scattered?
I am feeling the adjustment after moving and the holidays, requiring a bit more grounding these days. I have dug into my bag of skills to bring out everything I can think of to help me stay present, grounded, and focused! Are you experiencing that?
You've likely heard this advice before, and I will reiterate it quite emphatically. One of the ways I ground is to choose a word for the year. I know the power of choosing a word for the year, especially halfway through the year when I feel like I'm drifting from my goals and desires.
“Does it really work?”
It does! I was hesitant at first when I started it a decade ago, but it has proven invaluable at times when I had a tenuous hold on my own belief in self.
This year's word? It is expansive. That's my word for 2023. I want to have expansive relationships, experiences, business, finances, playfulness, and everything except the size of my booty! It’'s important to be clear when choosing a word.
It's amazing where the choice of the word will be reflected back to us. Last year my word was focus, and I thoroughly enjoyed when Magic Mind reached out to me to see if I wanted to collaborate with them on a product they've developed, which I was already using, that helps with focus and productivity. I love this universe!
“How do I choose a word, Vicki?”
It can be easy. Consider what you want to create for the year and allow yourself to intuit the word. Sometimes I don't have a word until mid-January. It's taken me a little bit of time to feel the vibration of the word that would be helpful. Don't make it stressful.
If you find the word isn’t working for you, consider where you may be blocking your success and avoiding matching the vibration of what you want. If it still doesn’t work for you, change it!
The vibration of words is so important. What we speak, hear, and how we converse with ourselves. All of it contributes to how you feel and what you experience in your life. It is worth the effort to be aware of your language and do the work to shift it if it isn’t supporting you.
So, please expand with me and choose your word of the year. Care to learn more about how I came to pick my word? Lucky you, you can tune into the podcast to do just that.
Oh, and also learn about another change happening with words in my life.
