Cultivating Mindfulness: Yes, It's Necessary for Intuition!

Hey there,

It's podcast week!  In the last episode, we explored discovering your innate gifts and embracing the truth that you are the gift itself. How did you do with that concept? Are you learning to appreciate you?

I know it can be hard sometimes. Ironically, there were a few hours last week I wanted to get as far away from me as possible. Thankfully, my years of conscious awareness kicked in, and I didn't stay in the muck too long.

This week, we're exploring a topic that might make some of you roll your eyes: mindfulness. Yep. We are going there.

I get it; I once thought I couldn't stand to hear the word said one more time, too. But hear me out as we explore the essential link between mindfulness and intuition.

Without mindfulness, true intuition remains elusive. It's the foundation upon which our intuitive senses thrive, allowing us to tap into our deepest wisdom without the interference of emotion or drama.

Did you realize that intuition is often delivered without a lot of emotion or drama? Think about that the next time you watch someone do social media readings. If it's filled with hyperbole, exaggerated expression, or you "have" to's, scroll on by.

But let's be real – mindfulness isn't about sitting on a mountaintop for hours on end. Who has time for that?

It's about being present in the chaos of everyday life, learning to connect with our inner selves amidst the hustle and bustle. It's like deadlifting; you start small and gradually build up your mindful muscles until they're strong enough to support your intuition.

And just like attempting a higher weight in dead lifting, it can be frustrating to have to keep trying and build the stamina to access your knowing and depend on it. My intuition is spot on, my deadlift is stuck at 135 lbs. Go figure.

So, what does mindfulness look like in practice? It's as simple as paying attention – to your breath, your surroundings, even your lunch. Yes, even gluten-free, vegan mac and cheese can be a mindful experience! And amazing. If you want my recipe, respond to this email and I'd be happy to share it with you.

But mindfulness isn't just about being present; it's about cultivating a harmonious relationship between your physical and non-physical self. It's about quieting the noise in your head so you can hear the whispers of your intuition loud and clear.

In today's episode, I offer you a guided mindfulness meditation to help you connect with your inner wisdom. So, whether you're driving, walking, or sitting in your favorite spot, take a moment to tune in and join me on this journey of self-discovery. Just don't do the meditation while driving, ok?

So,  what do you say? Can you give the word and the practice another try? Cool. Thank you so much for watching, listening, sharing with friends, and being overall amazing.

Signing off to go make more mac and cheese,

Vicki Baird
