For the majority of the students in the States, school is winding down for the year, summer plans are starting to be taken into consideration and one can practically hear their brains screeching to a halt as they relish in the idea of no more homework or tests for a few months. I was never a fan of summer vacation. I like summer, just not the long time off. As a student because the town I grew up in didn’t have much for kids to do past the age of eight and as a parent because, oh my goodness, was that stressful finding childcare and then making sure they didn’t burn the house down when they were too old for childcare!

Whenever this time rolls around and I witness the different levels of experience for people, it does help me to remember what I do love. I LOVE being a student. I like learning about most things. I may not go in depth with all subjects but if there is a little bit of energy there, I will learn as much as I can and use it if applicable later on. If not, it becomes trivia or a conversation piece.

There have been many times in my life when I was watching a documentary, show, demonstration or listening to a lecture, and the information was needed in a session later in the week or month. It usually shows up pretty quickly so I’ve learned to go with the pull to learn something even if it makes absolutely no sense to me at all.

That is a key ingredient to developing Your First Sense, being curious and not having to name WHY an experience is present in your life. Learning to trust that if it is there, you attracted it and would really benefit from asking, “What could I learn from this?”

When was the last time you allowed yourself to be the student? When was the last time you allowed yourself to be curious and to not feel like you HAD to know something because you are an adult but you wanted to know? The soul comes to learn and the human aspect of us has an amazing ability to do so. Are you connecting the two so you can live a more fulfilled life?

It’s ok if you have not done this yet. It is not too late, ever, to learn. Ever. Even in the soul place but don’t you want the joy of starting it now rather than waiting until you croak?

Choose one thing this week to read, research, learn, practice, explore or inquire about. Open up that natural curiosity and start really being invested in your life. You will be amazed at how good it feels!
